A summary of my past couple of weeks and the next one.
The Unguarded Moment by Steve McCurry
The exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum showcases a selection of McCurry’s works, including the world’s most recognised photograph -the above “Afghan Girl”. Most of his displayed photographs were taken in Asia, especially India.
I like how McCurry believes that [...]

A hodgepodge of updates / ramblings ahead. I hope this doesn’t mean that my attention span has been reduced to 140 characters or less, especially since I’m not even into Twitter!

Have just watched one of the films shown at the Italian Film Festival, Riprendimi (Good Morning Heartache). It was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. A well thought-out and refreshingly mature plot + Stellar leads = Bravissimo!

It never fails to amaze me how much shopping one can do in this city-state (provided one has the means, obviously). After missing the first two Shakespeare in the Park productions, I finally caught SRT’s Much Ado About Nothing at Fort Canning Green last night. Awesome stage and props, although the portrayal of Act 4, Scene i kinda raised my eyebrows (a Chinese wedding in Sicily in the 1600s? Surely that’s pushing the envelope a little [...]

As much as I was charmed by the flamboyant Rum Tum Tugger and Grizabella’s pitch-purrrfect rendition of Memory, I’m sorry to say that Cats the musical isn’t as phenomenal as I had hoped it would be.
The musical is composed by the genius Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats and other poems by the [...]

I, that please some, try all, both joy and terror
Of good and bad, that makes and unfolds error,
Now take upon me, in the name of Time,
Before Sunrise and Before Sunset are two of my all-time favourite films, so when I found out that Ethan Hawke was coming to town with The Bridge Project for The [...]
