Spaß!

I know I haven’t updated this space for eons!

Went for German on Monday this week instead of the usual Saturday so I could play paintball yesterday, and it was sooo much funnnnnn!!! Thanks PwC Sports Club for organising!

Mahesh and I reached the Orchid Country Club slightly before 10am for the briefing etc. Unsurprisingly, only less than half of the number of people who signed up turned up, which meant we could play more rounds for the same price! =D

Was actually quite surprised by the size of the pellets -somehow expected it to be significantly larger than that of a marble. The speed at which one travels, though, is crazy (ca. 320km/h if I heard correctly) that when an exposed part of your body gets shot, a bruise will instantly appear. I have a nasty black-and-blue on my lower arm!

Another thing for sure is you gotta be ready to get down and dirty to play this game ‘cos the ground is pretty muddy and of course, you get shot here and there. Luckily they use vegetable dye for the paintballs, which means it’s washable!

The gun is kinda heavy to run around with but you get used to it after some time. I was shooting aimlessly most of the time, though, since had forgotten to bring my specs along :S Nonetheless, by some kind of miracle, my team emerged the overall winner! *beams*

Overall, really glad I went to play the game (Stef, you would’ve loved it too!) especially since it was highly subsidised by the firm -only had to fork out $10 to play for 2.5 hours :) Heard it would’ve cost around $80/person otherwise?

Another relatively costly novelty that the firm has generously paid for was a fish spa my counselling group indulged in some time last month. It was at Kenko at the newly-opened Singapore Flyer and we had a tickling good time!

What we had to do was basically soak our feet in one of the ponds and let the “doctor fish” nibble the dead skin off them.

Many of us were just giggling away and getting all amazed by how delicious our dead skins must have tasted to the school of fish that flocked around us :p At the end of the 45-minute session, I felt my feet were only slightly softer, though. Unless paid for, I’d rather spend the money on a good, classic pedicure instead :)

The dinner that followed was pretty neat. We headed to Via Mar, a Spanish restaurant at the Esplanade.

The paella tastes so good! Reminds me of the one I had in Barcelona :)

More updates coming up!
