Busy busy bee!

The office is getting more quiet these days, except for the typing sound on the keyboards, as the corporate tax filing deadline approaches. The good thing is that I’m starting to feel more comfortable with what I do, more confident when it comes to speaking to clients, more critical in my analysis, more careful in handling details, more familiar with the laws and circulars. Still have a long way to go, though.

Proper work aside, I have been ”arrowed” to be  part of the organizing committee for the Tax New Year Party next year, hurhur. It’s actually been quite fun -hopefully we could get a great venue to hold the party in.

Was at A is for Andy over the weekend. It’s a temporary exhibition at Mohamed Sultan held to celebrate Andy Warhol’s greatest works, and they actually brought in some of the famous original works by the artist, which is really cool. There were the Campbell Soup series, Mao Zedong, Liz Taylor, and of course, Marilyn Monroe. I guess pop art never fails to bring joy to the eyes.

Speaking of the finer things in life, I’m currently looking for another opportunity to volunteer in the arts. Was browsing through the National Museum’s webpage where they have a couple of events in need of volunteers, but I’m not exactly qualified for any. They’re mainly looking for people with some tour guiding experience *sigh*. Anyone knows of interesting volunteering opportunities? Drop me a line :)

In the meantime, reviews!

Bee Movie

It’s an okay movie. Seinfeld’s brand of refreshing humour makes it enjoyable (e.g. the part with Sting, which was sooo funny), but the story’s rather simple. That said, I still love Renée Zellweger all the same!

Molière

Hadn’t seen any faux biographical movie this good in a long, long time! Romain Duris is such a joy to watch, que maintenant j’ai besoin de parler dans la langue de Molière :)

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I’m not a fantasy kinda person, but I’m making an exception for this one. Definitely THE must-watch movie of the year.

Looking forward to Enchanted and 2 Days in Paris this week!

  2. Met! I didn’t know you’re into Warhol! Haha… the exhibition was pretty awesome, ‘cos they brought in like 200 over of his works (yes, including Jackie O). There was even this silkscreen workshop as part of the event, for free alright. You should’ve been here!

I guess the only downside to the event was the lack of Warhol merchandise put up for sale (other than his original prints, of course). Or maybe it’s a good thing, ‘cos otherwise I would’ve had spent bucks on them like no tomorrow :p

My personal fav is the Beethoven series!
