Dag!

Happy Queen’s Day from Amsterdam! The whole city was out partying on the streets today, all decked in orange and boy, what a sight and sound it was! Everybody was having so much fun and so was I! In fact, to my delight, this Belgium-Holland trip has exceeded my expectation in many ways! :)

Anyways, here are some pics from the day trip to Kent (the south-easternmost county in England) and East Sussex with Cheryl, Matthew and Nadine on 4 April:

First stop: Rochester. The picture above is of River Medway, I think.

Next stop: a small town in Kent whose name I couldn’t recall :p It’s a really pretty small town, actually. By looking at this town, I could easily see why Kent is sometimes referred to as the Garden of England.

We were trying to grab lunch there, but apparently most of the restaurants and shops there close on Wednesdays (the day we were there was one), so we we headed to the next town.

As we drove past Dungeness, we could see the English Channel through the car windows and we stopped for a bit. It’s France on the other side of the sea!

We continued to search for a lunch venue, but most of the restaurants in the area have stopped serving lunch!

So we tried to forget about our growling tummies and continued taking photos. The above is of a nuclear power station in Dungeness.

I love how the sky looks so blue in the countryside.

In the end, we decided to just grab a quick lunch and headed to Rye in East Sussex.

It’s a small, pretty ancient English town.

So that’s a peek into English countrysides. Tomorrow I’m gonna head to Lisse to check out the famous Keukenhof (tulip garden) and snap lots of photos, hee… Will be back in Vienna on Wednesday and then I shall start sorting out my Paris photos so you guys can have a look, yea? In the meantime, click here for a better view of the English countrysides!

Tot ziens!
